My dream is, and has been for several years now, to run Boston. Now it is time for me to stop dreaming and start training!
I ran my first half-marathon this past January–the New Orleans Rock N’ Roll, and I feel like it’s time to train for a full marathon. Why not? If you can run a half, you can run full, with proper training of course! So that’s exactly what I am going to do.
I know that I must run at least one marathon to achieve the qualifying time for Boston if I can. I may not qualify for several marathons, and then I may not be accepted. My goal is ultimately to get to Boston, which may take a year or more, but I believe I am ready for that struggle and ready to put in the effort of achieving this goal of mine.
So here’s to Day 1 of my marathon training!
